Biography

Lane Johnson is a freelance composer/arranger and teacher. He received his BM in Music Theory and Composition from BYU where he studied with Dr. Merrill Bradshaw, Dr. David Sargent, and Dr. Thomas Durham. He also received a teaching certificate in Choral Music Education from BYU. He has taught choral music at both the Junior High and High School levels and has conducted various church choirs as well. Mr. Johnson’s compositions and arrangements have been performed by University, High School, Junior High School, Church and Community choirs all over the world. His pieces have also been performed at ACDA National and Regional Conventions and have been featured in High School State Honor Choir programs. He has received several commissions for original compositions and arrangements from many groups, including the Brigham Young University Singers, the Northern Arizona University Shrine of the Ages choir, the Minnesota Saints Chorale, Utah Valley University, Wasatch Chorale, and various high school and jr. high choirs. Lane’s music is published by Walton Music, Santa Barbara Music Publishing, Jackman Music, and Lane Johnson Music.

In addition to his freelance work, Mr. Johnson is currently the VP of Engineering at a local software company. He is married to Marcia Skousen Johnson and resides in Lindon, Utah.
