BYU Concert Choir, BYU Singers, BYU Men’s Chorus and BYU Women’s Chorus will perform at Winter Choirfest
Audiences will have a chance to hear BYU’s most distinguished choirs in one evening at the Winter Choirfest concert on Feb. 6.
“The first performance of each new semester is always a happy event for the BYU choirs, who are eager to share their new repertoire,” said Rosalind Hall, conductor of BYU Men’s Chorus and BYU Concert Choir.
“We end the concert with the power of all four choirs combined, singing a piece that will uplift and inspire you,” Applonie said. “We sing a wide variety of music that appeals to all. You’ll get a taste of what the choirs are preparing for their own spring concerts, so you can decide which of each choir’s spring concerts you would like to attend.”
Selections by the BYU Singers will include repertoire they will take on their tour to Vietnam and Indonesia this spring.
“This year’s edition of the Winter Choirfest features a huge diversity of literature,” Hall said, “including choral classics, folk songs, hymns and Broadway favorites, all of which are guaranteed to warm your heart and drive away your winter blues.
“In the past we have performed this concert on two nights, but in order to protect our students’ very busy schedules, we have decided this year to only do it once. We expect to sell out very quickly, so hurry to buy your tickets in order to avoid disappointment.”
