John Shurtleff

John Shurtleff has served as Technical Director for The Young Ambassadors and The Living Legends in the BYU School of Music for 15 years. His extensive international travel has been a tremendous asset to the BYU touring program as he has coordinated the transport of equipment, scenery, costumes and props, interfacing with Customs officials and international government agencies to assure the needed technical support for each touring company. John is also responsible for the training of BYU students who fill all technical positions, including stage management, sound, lighting, rigging, props and costumes. In 1997, John was appointed Technical Director for the Sesquicentenniel Production, Faith In Every Footstep, presented in Cougar Stadium. He also served as one of the technical directors for Light of the World in the LDS Conference Center during the 2002 Winter Games in Salt Lake City. In addition, he has worked with Stadium of Fire, Provo Freedom Festival’s premier outdoor extravaganza for many seas ons and has provided technical direction for tours on every continent.
