Cast Auditions

Live Auditions

Live Auditions will be held April 6-11 2009 for the 2009-2010 cast. To make an audition appointment please call (801) 422.2563. All applicants should come ready to sing a slow ballad and an up-tempo musical theater selection. Each song should be about 16 bars in length. An accompanist and cassette/CD player will be provided.

Please have your sheet music cut to the proper length, clearly marked, and all tapes cued to the exact starting point.

On the same day as your vocal audition, you will be invited to the dance audition, where you will be taught several dance sequences from the Young Ambassador show.

Bring a photograph/headshot and performance resume to the audition and plan to arrive 10 minutes early to complete a audition information card

Videotaped Auditions

For those who cannot attend the live preliminary audition, you may send a VHS or DVD of your performance by April 1. Based on your taped audition, you may be asked to attend final call backs.

Final Callbacks

Everyone invited to final callbacks should be prepared to perform 32 bars of your best musical theater selection. You will be asked to sight-sing, sing in quartets, as well as learn additional movement combinations.

Interviews will be held later that week to discuss the Young Ambassador commitment with prospective members. A list of those selected for the 2009-2010 company will be posted within one week of the final callbacks.
