For all recitals:

To schedule any venue for a recital, students must have either the green required recital sheet or the yellow non-required sheet, a copy of their class schedule with the recital class on it, and the financial agreement.

Madsen Recital Hall

  • Available for required student recitals.
  • Students are limited to a 1 hour performance length with 30 minutes at the beginning and at the end for the house to open and close.
  • Available for non-required student recitals in the spring and summer but the student is required to cover the cost.
  • Rehearsals for recitals can be scheduled upon recital scheduling. Rehearsals are limited to one hour (that includes set-up, the rehearsal, and the tear-down). Rehearsals for recitals in March and April 2011 are limited to March 3rd, 10th, 17th, 24th and April 6th.
  • A house manager and stage manager will be provided.
  • A reception can be held after the recital.
  • Recordings in this space cost $24.
  • Media Music recitals are not permitted in this facility.
  • Junior Percussion recitals must be in either E250 or E251 but Senior Percussion recitals are allotted additional setup time for their senior recital in the Madsen.

University Parkway Center

  • Available for required and non-required student recitals.
  • Students are limited to a 1 hour performance length with 30 minutes at the beginning and at the end for the house to open and close.
  • Students can have a rehearsal scheduled through the HFAC scheduling office. Rehearsals for recitals can be scheduled upon recital scheduling. Rehearsals are limited to one hour (that includes set-up, the rehearsal, and the tear-down).
  • This is the “default” location for Junior recitals.
  • They will not have a house manager or a stage manager.
  • Recordings in this space cost $24.

Tanner Building 151 & 251, Maeser Building Auditorium, JFSB Auditorium

  • Available for required and non-required student recitals.
  • These venues are scheduled through Campus Scheduling by the HFAC scheduling office and cannot be booked before the add/drop deadline of the semester.
  • Students are limited to a 1 hour performance length with 30 minutes at the beginning and at the end for the house to open and close.
  • Students can have a rehearsal, scheduled through the HFAC scheduling office. Rehearsals for recitals can be scheduled upon recital scheduling. Rehearsals are limited to one hour (that includes set-up, the rehearsal, and the tear-down).
  • A stage manager and house manager will not be provided.
  • Recordings in these spaces cost $90.

Museum of Art Auditorium

  • Available for required recitals only.
  • To schedule, students are given a MOA scheduling form to take to the MOA scheduler. If their recital is approved, they bring the form back to the scheduling office and the process is completed by printing off the performance packet.
  • Students are limited to a 1 hour performance length with 30 minutes to set up and tear down (1 ½ hours total in the space).
  • Instruments permitted in the MOA are limited due to sound bleed into the exhibits.
  • A stage manager and house manager will not be provided.
  • Receptions and rehearsals are not permitted in the MOA.
  • Recordings in this space cost $30.
