Performing Ensembles

From the beginning of the Brigham Young Academy in 1876, performing ensembles have been at the forefront of the educational ideals pursued in music at BYU. Today's various ensembles are a reflection of the diversity espoused in the School of Music's mission statement, providing career training and individual involvement essential to the aspiring professional, but also ideal for the balancing of a college curriculum.

The myriad of ensembles at BYU make it possible for every student to find a group that fits their skill, schedule, and favorite style of art music. Many of the ensembles have a mission to represent BYU across the world, and travel extensively in the fulfillment of that mission. The touring ensembles are perhaps the most widely traveled collegiate ensembles in the world, and have given their respective performers a chance for an educational experience that is global in perspective. The campus community, likewise, is the beneficiary of the many performing groups, with literally hundreds of choices in an academic year to hear a BYU ensemble perform. To find a calendar of the upcoming events in the School of Music go to Performances.
